5 Best men’s tennis shoes for 2024

Most players have their brand preferences and color choices. However, you should also consider your foot type, as different shoes can improve performance and prevent injury. Think about the surface you play on most frequently, your playing style, foot size and shape, and budget.

Many recreational players use running shoes, but they wear out quickly with regular play. Proper tennis shoes are designed to endure significant wear and tear, allowing for stopping, starting, pivots, slides, and lateral movement.

All the shoes listed below provide excellent lateral support, durable materials, ample cushioning, shock absorption, and reinforced soles/toe guards.

With wide feet and a tendency to stub my toe while playing, I’ve tested various shoes from Nike, Asics, Babolat, and Prince. I haven’t tried every shoe from every manufacturer yet, but I’ve tested most best-sellers and a mix of lightweight, speed-oriented shoes and heavier, more durable ones.

This guide will help you find the best men’s tennis shoes that offer comfort, agility, and durability. Whether you’re looking for the best men’s tennis shoes for beginners or ASICS tennis shoes, this guide has you covered. Let’s begin!

What Defines a Good Tennis Shoe?

When it comes to choosing the best men’s tennis shoes, one size definitely doesn’t fit all (pun intended). Every player has unique priorities—some might prioritize ultra-lightweight designs to boost foot speed, while others focus on support to prevent ankle injuries.

Generally, though, most players seek a combination of the following features:

– Comfort
– Durability
– Stability
– Support
– Traction

Whether you’re searching for the best men’s tennis shoes for beginners or top-quality ASICS tennis shoes, finding a pair that balances these qualities will enhance your game and keep you performing at your best.

Conclusion

Here are my top tennis shoe picks for 2024. I hope you find them useful, no matter your skill level.

I wanted to point out that brands often offer two types of models: the heavier, more stable, and durable ones, and the lighter, faster, but less stable options.

You’ll notice that, despite different marketing claims, many brands offer similar standard features. For comfort, I’d recommend going with Asics or Lacoste, especially the Gel Resolution 9.

The Asics Gel Resolution 9 is also great if you’re looking for durability, stability, and support.

If you have narrow feet, the Court FF 3s might be a good fit due to their new lacing system. On the other hand, if you have wider feet, New Balance shoes, especially in the 2E width, would probably be more comfortable.

If you’re unsure, I’d suggest getting the Asics Gel Resolution 9. It’s a top choice for many players, even those at lower levels who aren’t sponsored.

Remember, there’s no perfect shoe—it’s all about finding the right balance for your needs.
